Harold and Maude, by by Colin Higgins

We invite you to our October Playreading - „Harold and Maude”, a cult classic. The reading will be hosted by Benedikt Langenbach.

Harold is a rich, but sad teenager, who is obsessed with death and suicide. At a funeral (his favourite pastime) he meets 79-year-old Maude: she's eccentric, passionate, has a love for all creatures on earth and an admiration for life itself. Soon, the two, different as they might be, form a close bond...

While the idea of an intimate relationship between a 19-year-old boy and a 79-year-old woman was too much for viewers when the film was first released in 1971, it soon became a cult classic - partly due to the soundtrack by Cat Stevens. In 1980, the stage adaptation (9m/8f) premiered on Broadway and has since been successfully performed around the globe.

The script will be accessible from the members’ area at the beginning of October. To receive the PDF via e-mail, please contact dorota@baika.org 2-3 days before the event.

Non-members are very welcome to attend!

Please bring along your copy of the script.

SEE YOU THERE!
